The School of Foreign Languages was established in 1994 and is one of the six earliest-established schools of Zhengzhou Shengda University of Economics, Trade & Management. Adhering to the concepts of "fostering virtue through education" and "putting education of people first", the school attaches great importance to connotative construction and characteristic development, and closely aligns with the development strategies of "Five Regions" and "Four Routes" in Henan Province. Based on the school's orientation as a local, application-oriented, and characteristic undergraduate institution, it has determined a compound foreign language talent cultivation mode of "Foreign Languages +", with the key focus on cultivating high-quality, compound talents who can serve the regional economic development.The school offers four majors: English, Business English, Translation, and Japanese. It is committed to cultivating multi-level applied foreign language talents who possess good comprehensive qualities, a solid foundation in foreign languages and professional knowledge, the courage to innovate, strong practical abilities, and are suitable for the economic and social development of the country and the region. After more than 30 years of exploration, the school has gradually established teaching concepts and models that are suitable for students' growth and success. In 2016, the English major was identified as a characteristic brand major in private universities in Henan Province by the Education Department of Henan Province.
