The School of Art was founded in 2005. In the same year, undergraduate enrollment for the major of Music Performance started. In 2008, undergraduate enrollment for the majors of Environmental Design and Visual Communication Design began. And in 2009, the enrollment for the major of Fashion and Apparel Design commenced. Currently, there are a total of 2,575 students on campus, among whom 1,984 are undergraduate students and 591 are junior college students. Dr. Wang Guangya, the founder, shows great concern for the development and construction of the School of Art. He invested in building the "Art Building", which covers an area of 2,436.74 square meters and has a building area of 9,993.5 square meters. It is divided into 37 training rooms according to different functions, and there are a total of 1,913 pieces of equipment, which meets the needs of students' on-campus internships and practical training.

With the continuous expansion of the school-running scale and the increasing improvement of the school-running level, the School of Art, centering around the school's educational philosophy and positioning, has established the educational philosophy of taking practical teaching as the core, being guided by social needs, and aiming at students' development, that is, "strengthening characteristics, highlighting application, promoting school-enterprise cooperation, and integrating with society". It has also defined its school-running positioning as focusing on applied undergraduate art education, cultivating high-quality applied undergraduate talents with a strong sense of social responsibility, innovative spirit, and learning awareness, a solid professional foundation, strong practical abilities, and all-round development in terms of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, and aesthetics.
