Recently, the Social Sports Center of the General Administration of Sport of China announced the list of athletes for the korfball event of the 2025 World Games and the personnel roster for the U-level national korfball training team. Both a teacher and a student from the School of Physical Education of our university were selected, marking a historic breakthrough in national team selections since the establishment of our institution. This exciting news reflects the elevated level of korfball teaching and training at our university and adds a remarkable achievement to the development of sports at our school.

It is reported that Zhao Jing, a teacher from the School of Physical Education, has been selected for the national korfball training team due to her outstanding coaching and competitive skills. She will represent China in the indoor korfball competition at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu. Meanwhile, Feng Yuhan, a student majoring in social sports in the Class of 2024, has also been selected for the national U19 korfball training team and will compete in the 2025 Asian U19 Korfball Championship.

The simultaneous selection of both a teacher and a student for national-level competitions is not only a recognition of their individual capabilities but also a testament to the quality of korfball education and training at our university. This achievement is the result of the institution’s long-term emphasis and continuous investment in physical education, highlighting the significant progress in cultivating characteristic sports programs.


Korfball, a team sport originating from the Netherlands, has gained popularity in China in recent years. Shengda has actively promoted the popularization and development of korfball and nurtured a group of excellent athletes and coaches through professional training and competitions. This dual selection will inject new momentum into the development of sports at our university. In the future, we will further advance the reform of physical education teaching and the construction of characteristic sports programs, striving to cultivate more high-quality sports talents.
