The Foreign Language and Literature Department held a glorious carnival in Siyuan Hall on December 5, 2011. Of the Foreign Language and Literature Department, Dean Ma and the secretary were present. In addition, at least ten foreign teachers attended. Behind them, students filled the auditorium to near capacity.

This event was one of the most important displays of appreciation for foreign culture. English and Japanese majors of all levels organized, performed, and hosted the event. Musical numbers included a remake ofHigh School Musical, “Love the Way You Lie” by rapper Eminem, and a choir ensemble singing in English and Japanese. Other performances comprised of comedic plays, crosstalk, movie dubbing, dances, and a fashion show. For the most part, the audience seemed to enjoy seeing their classmates on stage, either wearing beautiful kimonos or singing their heart out in a romantic duet. Viewers cheered after each performance and even made envious comments at certain performers who could have been mistaken for art majors.
