On May 12th, Jiang Bingkun, the chairman of Strait Exchange Foundation, paid a visit to Shengda College. Along with him were Wang Zaixi, the vice-president of ARATS; Shi Jichun, the executive vice governor of Henan province; Song Liping, the head of the Bureau of Taiwan Affair in Henan. This visit was to promote the cross-strait communication, and it is of great importance to the development of the education in Henan.
At the welcome-opening, Dr. Wang said, “I am very honored and happy for chairman Jiang can pay a visit to Shengda today, and I am also thankful for the coming of our other honored guests.” Then he added, “Shengda College has made an impressive progress in the past 18 years, and also she has established a good reputation which is getting better and better. All of these couldn’t have been achieved without the support of SEF, HRATS, the Provincial government and Bureau of Taiwan Affairs in Henan. Here I am appealing to your constant support to Shengda, so we can together make a greater contribution to the across-strait communication”
Later, all the honored guests watched a video which is a brief introduction of Shengda College.
Jiang gave a speech then. He said, “thanks for the warmly reception from Dr. Wang and all the Shengda people. Today I am happy and feel much honored to come to Shengda. I was impressed by the video just now, and what Dr. Wang has done in education is respectable. I will support the cultural communication across the straits as I always do.”
Also, Wang Zaixi expressed his admiration to Dr. Wang’s achievement in education and congratulated our founder on all his results. Wang Zaixi pointed out that education is the foundation of a nation, and the hope of a nation lies on education.
At last, SEF and our college exchanged souvenirs. Chairman Jiang was also kind enough to write down his best wishes using Chinese writing brush, which received great compliment.
During their visit, Jiang along with other honored guests took a look at our library and some other scenery in Shengda.
