Chairman Chen Yunlin spoke highly of our founder's lifelong devotion to education and cultural transmission across the mainland's southern strait. He pointed that, since the 1940's, our founder has spent over 60 years in education during which time he has established over 10 schools on both sides of the strait, cultivating more than 300,000 talents and making great contributions to the development of China's society as well as its economy. After the enactment of the Reform and Openness Policy, Dr. Wang Guang-ya founded Shengda Trade, Economics & Management College and Chenggong College (located in his hometown of Gongyi, Henan). This has not only enriched the educational resources in Henan, but also promoted the Henan-Taiwan cross-strait educational and cultural exchange.

During the meeting, our founder introduced the basic situation of our college to Chen, and appreciated the efforts that Chen has made in promoting the communication between both sides of the strait.

At the end of the meeting, Chairman Chen said, "At present, a new peaceful era has come. The economic cooperation and cultural exchange across the straits are promising and have created a harmonious environment for the development of Shengda College." He hoped that our founder could make use of thiscrucial opportunity, shoulder more responsibility both in developing the cross-straits relations and in enhancing people's well-being, and try to make greater achievements in education and cultural communication between the two sides. Chen also gave his best wishes to Dr. Wang and Shengda.

On that day, Yan Zhongzhou, the vice minister of The State Council Taiwan Affairs Office of the Exchange Bureau also met our founder. After getting a general idea of the condition of our college, he regarded highly of the contribution our founder had made to the society, and showed his great expectation of our college.
