Organized by the Foreign Affairs Office, 16 foreign teachers of Shengda College took part in the tree planting activity at Shangdu Friendship Forest in the Yellow River Scenic Spot on April 16th. This activity was established by the government not only as an important representation of the foreign experts’ quality service, but also as a bridge for promoting the friendship among foreign experts who work in Zhengzhou.

As early as in 2006, the Zhengzhou Foreign Experts Bureau set up the Shangdu Friendship Forest of 50,000 square meters in Yellow River Scenic Spot as the planting base for foreign experts. Every March, foreign experts would be organized by the Zhengzhou Administration for Foreign Experts Affairs to go to the base. After 5 years of careful cultivation, the forest has now become lush and green.

On said day, Dennis Haughey of Shengda College, who represented all the foreign teachers, gave a brief appreciation speech to the Zhengzhou Administration for Foreign Experts Affairs. Following that, foreign experts started to work in the forest with shovels and buckets. The Shengda foreign teachers were in high spirits. They watered the trees carefully and shared their happiness with other foreign experts during the precious moment. Half an hour later, foreign experts took a group photo to mark the occasion.

This activity not only gave the foreign experts an opportunity to socialize with fellow foreigners and Chinese leaders, but also witnessed globalization taking place right here in Henan’s Yellow River Scenic Spot.
