Eighteen ShengDa College foreign teachers took part in tree planting activities at the Zhengzhou Shangdu Friendship Forest in the Yellow River Scenic Area on March 31. Sponsored by the Zhengzhou Municipal People’s Government, the event aimed to promote camaraderie between the city and its friends from across the globe.
Assisted by members of the college’s Foreign Affairs Office and Public English Department, ShengDa teachers joined foreign experts from the Zhengzhou area in adding more than one-hundred new trees to the Friendship Forest. In attendance were also Zhengzhou Vice-Mayor Li Liushen and representatives of the Henan Administration for Foreign Experts’ Affairs.
Following tree planting, teachers were taken on a tour of the Scenic Area’s new Yellow Square, then shared a buffet lunch at the Yellow River Hotel. Foreign experts first planted trees in the area in March, 2006. This marks the second year for ShengDa’s participation in the activity.
